McConnell Manor’s expansion Grand Opening

Cornwall (December 4th, 2007) – Mr. Jean Bourcier, president of the Allegro Residences network, is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of the independent living retirement expansion of the McConnell Manor.

The expansion project, started a year ago represents a substantial investment of over $18,8 millions has greeted its first residants last month.  The new building, located at 801 4^th Street East, calls for the addition of 118 units over 6 floors, which cater to independent seniors.  The units in this new phase are roomy, ranging in size from studios to one- and two-bedroom apartments.  All apartments boast private or French balconies and Internet wiring. Studios and some one-bedroom apartments feature kitchenettes, while most one- and two-bedroom apartments offer a complete dining room, a laundry room and ample storage room.

The new phase connected to the current building has allowed the creation of additional interior parking and the addition of two elevators.  On the ground floor, the new building features a distinct entrance, a spacious lobby, a fireplace lounge, a games room, as well as an expansive exterior terraces and rooftop terrace.  The range of services offered is expanded by the addition of an exercise room, a home theater, a new chapel, a wellness centre for medical visits and massages, a physiotherapy center and finally, a dental hygienist on site. Expansion of the current building’s dining room and upgrades to its kitchen now allows the new residents to fully benefit from the full range of services presently available at McConnell Manor. 

 

In all, the McConnell Manor expansion project features all the amenities that allow us to give «Our undivided attention»:    plenty of room and a variety of services providing maximum comfort and security to its clientele. 

The current building, erected in 1967, was completely renovated in 1999 during its conversion into a retirement home.
